 Main Duties

 Thanet District Council is currently recruiting for Refuse Drivers/Loaders to join its Recycling and Waste department. As a key member of the team you will be responsible for collecting refuse, recyclables and green waste throughout Thanet – providing an important and highly visible service to residents on behalf of the council. This is an excellent opportunity for a hard working individual to join one of the council’s key service areas.  Essential Requirements

  • Successful applicants must hold a full and current Class 2 driving license and have passed their CPC qualification.
  • Applicants will also be expected to demonstrate strong team leadership skills and have an extensive knowledge of operating waste collection vehicles and other associated equipment.
  • The role will require a certain level of fitness as large periods of time will be spent collecting and returning resident’s bins to and from their property.
  • All job offers will be subject to satisfactory medical clearance. We will ask you to complete a medical questionnaire which will be sent to our occupational health medical advisor.
