Delivery of EK Human Resources' services

Delivering a project/intervention or programme

We have specialists who are commissioned on a project basis to work with our customers on specific interventions with clear objectives and measurable success criteria. These projects are contracted and costed up-front so that there are no surprises during the delivery of the project. We would always prefer to work with you from the planning phase of a project, but if you already find yourself part-way through a project, and then requiring HR expertise, we are happy to quickly ‘get up to speed’ and will agree with you how we can help and support the remainder of the project.

Supporting our specialists are a team of HR generalists and HR administrators who are deployed to projects based on their skills and experience.

Examples of work we have completed this way for our customers are: major event health and safety risk management, TUPE transfer of staff to and from 3rd parties, organisation-wide restructures including redundancies, development of organisation culture (including values and behavioural competencies), senior appointment sourcing and selection and changes to terms and conditions of employment.

Delivering an ongoing HR service

From our menu of services, you may only need EK Human Resources for a specific area of HR, i.e., health and safety, learning and development, employee engagement or recruitment and selection and so on. Or you may want to engage us in the delivery of all our services.

Our operating model for our core service is:

  • An EK Human Resources self-service intranet-based service where employees and managers can immediately access HR, health and safety and learning and development policies, procedures, forms and guidance. This online service includes toolkits for managers, employment law updates and access to book agreed learning development activities.
  • An ‘in normal working hours’ HR advisory service. This is a telephony-based service giving first line, immediate advice on all areas of our service. All advisors are CIPD qualified and are trained to coach line managers so that they understand and are confident in the next steps that they will need to take following a call to this team. The advisors work with managers to identify further support, training or guidance that the manager can access.
  • If a call to the HR advisory service results in a need for on-site or specialist support, the HR advisor will arrange for this and contract the delivery of this with the customer while they are on the phone.
  • HR specialists are deployed to customer sites on an ‘as required’ basis for specific purposes or projects. Visits to customer sites are contracted individually between the HR specialist and the customer so as to be mutually convenient and timely.

This model enables us to deliver HR services when you need them. Our customers can access much of what they need immediately, which means that our HR Advisors and specialists can spend more time working with mangers who have more complex needs.

This model also enables us to track, record and monitor customer usage so that we can continue to develop improved online tools, training interventions and information to inform organisational management interventions and communications.
