EK Human Resources was set up in January 2010 and provides services to:
- Canterbury City Council
- Dover District Council
- East Kent Housing
- EK Services
- Thanet District Council
EK Human Resources' formation came as part of an innovative answer to the challenges faced by local authorities in east Kent, as they looked for ways to share their services to increase resilience, create larger pools of talent and to be more efficient. With a unique blend of public sector knowledge and business acumen, EK Human Resources offers great value for money and services that support organisations to develop a workforce for the future.
The EK Human Resources team is based at Dover District Council but visit all of the customer sites as and when a face-to-face approach is required for service delivery.
Sixty per cent of the EK Human Resources team are specialists with either the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (CIPD) qualification or the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health qualification. EK Human Resources is passionate about continuous professional development and has a professional set of competencies against which they manage themselves to ensure continuous review and development are core to their behaviours as well as their services.
How EK Human Resources is managed
EK Human Resources is governed by the Strategic Human Resources Board (SHRB) which comprises the Chief Executives of the three district councils and the Head of EK Human Resources.
The SHRB informs, supports and provides strategic direction for EK Human Resources and monitors services and performance.
